Hey everyone! Welcome to my world...
Charis (Hanner) Gomez is currently the editorial producer of CNN’s Newsroom with Pamela Brown on primetime weekends. Her introduction to network television was as the associate booking producer at MSNBC’s Meet the Press Daily. Prior to her role at MSNBC she wore many hats at WJLA-ABC7 where she was the lead producer of the only televised show covering the business of government, “Government Matters” and an on-air correspondent. She graduated Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies studying journalism in the spring of 2018. On any given day you’ll find her flipping channels between network news and Real Housewives of Atlanta…simultaneously checking on something yummy in her beloved Crock Pot. She graduated from Georgia State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism-Telecommunications. A self-proclaimed "wander-luster," Charis prides herself in traveling abroad to further her experience within the journalism field. Her more recent travels landed her in Rekjavik, Iceland in the summer of 2017, where she studied Immersive Storytelling. During her undergraduate years she studied Global Business & Media in Istanbul, Turkey and Budapest, Hungary in May of 2013, and studied in Hong Kong in 2014 where she concentrated in Entrepreneurship and Modern Media. Charis was a former intern at WSB-TV Channel 2 News- a COX affiliate and CBS Radio’s The People’s Station: V-103. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and the Society of Professional Journalists.
